Department of Culture and Diversity

Ambassador of Panama

Welcome to You, Me, Us – a student led organization where students can express their ideas and learn from topics happening all around the world. My name is Corien Dijsselbloem and I am currently an eleventh grader attending Balboa Academy, a high school in Panama. Even though this organization has just started, we are hoping to get as many young leaders and people involved as possible in order to share our thoughts and voices so they can be heard. As this project keeps on progressing, I hope many interested young people enjoy the hard work that has been put into this so YMU becomes a successful project and has something everyone can relate to, or would like to learn about. Have fun and enjoy our work!

Ambassador of Japan

Hello, I am Khalid who currently lives in Japan. I think the whole point of this project is to bring people of multiple cultures under one umbrella and I think spending 13 years in Bangladesh and 5 years in Tokyo makes me a very unique member of this project. I am a 17-year-old senior, finishing my final semester of high school at an all boys Catholic International School in Tokyo. Over the past two years through extracurricular activities such as cross country, theatre, track & field, wrestling, MUN, and musical I have developed connections with countless people not only from my own school but from schools all over the Kanto region. Joining a project like You, Me, and Us will further expand my knowledge about other cultures and experience with other people, which is what I am hoping to get out of this project.

Khalid Saifullah

Ambassador of Korea

Hello I'm Jason Yongmin Song from Korea. I'm a junior and soon will be in senior year. This is my first time to participate in an international student community, and I promise to try my best to work as a sector minister of the YMU. I also hope that various people in the world can obtain a better understanding about Korea after reading my articles based on the modern Korean society. More teenagers in Korea should come to realize that studying and memorizing isn't all; escaping a provincial view and learning about the world is even more valuable.

Ambassador of Germany

Hi. My name is Lucia and I live in germany. To be honest, in the beginning, I viewed the YMU and Phil's plan to make a teenagers' global society with doubt. I thought that his plan was too idealistic and would require too much work to do. However, what made me contribute to this society was, I guess, his fervor. As a sector minister, I will try to lead others so that teenagers' of today's world can have a more cosmopolitan view and experience diverse cultures. For me, I will be talking about cultures and lifestyles of Germany  and hope to make the country more friendly and well known to other teenagers around the world. I also hope to experience and hear about what other teenagers around the world have to say! Come join the YMU and become a global teenager.

Lucia Kuke

Ambassador of India

Hello, my name is Kai and I’m currently studying the IB in the 11th Grade at Pathways World School, India, having lived in Helsinki previously. International Relations is the degree in mind and someday, I want to work for the UN. This project represents a unique and, quite frankly, a very touching idea of unity. It dismays me when adults don’t take into account the strong opinions and innovative ideas of teenagers. Usually, we are relegated to spiritual zones of murky twilight – too old to be considered children, but not quite adults yet. Adolescents are volatile, unpredictable and most importantly, have an almost inexhaustible capacity for learning and growth, so I absolutely love the idea of this website. I have a passion for writing poetry reflecting the perspectives of an Indian girl, both abroad and within the country and I’m extremely excited to converse with all of you.
