I believe that music is a universal language that everybody can communicate with, whether it be a national anthem or pop music. Music acts as a symbol, and even medicine for our world pressing problems, allowing each person to immerse themselves in their own unique world, allowing artists to express themselves in unique ways. Ironically, as alienating as that thought may seem, music brings listeners together, establishing a connection that transcends beyond our world's issues today. Music like the best of speeches, articles and novels, can provide a message, uniting people from all across the world. I believe that YMU is an excellent platform to express our ideas as youth either through entertainment or innovation. I would like to offer to share ideas by creating new music that allows me to express my emotions and thoughts about the world around us.

Hi everyone! My name is Jinwoo and I come from Korea! I attend an all-boys international school in Tokyo, Japan. I am a student with a lot of interest in music. I think music is something anyone around the world can enjoy; they might like playing some musical instruments like I do, or might simply like listening to it. Music has a power that many of us do not realize. As you may know, music is very effective in communicating one’s messages and thoughts. It can make connections among so many people around the world. Many cultures have different genres and styles of music but in the end I think they all originate from one same place. Just like we all can share and agree upon a piece of music we listen to and the lyrics we hear, I believe that our ideas and thoughts can also be shared and agreed upon.
